We will get started with the basic concepts and go over things like, how websites work, what’s a personal website, and the difference between a “one page” vs. “multi-page” website. In addition, we’ll talk about what exactly are website builders and how to pick the right one.

We’ll begin this module with a demo of the project that we will be building as part of this course. This will be followed by an overview of the Carrd dashboard and the 2 unique paths that we can take to develop our website.

Module 3 will be our first hands-on module where will start building our website from scratch. We will begin by going over the development plan and some additional fundamental concepts such as website elements, containers and digital colours. By the end of this module, a lot of the heavy lifting will be done and a basic structure of our site will be ready.

With the setup out of the way, we will begin the styling work in module 4. You will be introduced to the generally available styling options and how you can use them in Carrd.

In Module 5, we will continue the development of the remaining parts/sections on the website and leverage the reusable styles from the previous styling work. You will get to add some new elements to your site such as a button and a table.

No more a static site! You will learn how to add a contact form to your site and allow visitors to leave you a message. We will also take a look at what happens to the message after the user hits the submit button. Where does it go?

In this module, we are taking things up a notch! If you have ever wondered how the sites look so different on a desktop compared to a mobile device, this module is for you. You will learn how to make your site respond to the size of the screen (responsive design) and respond to users’ actions (animations).

This is going to be the most exciting module as we will prepare our site to go live on the internet — it feels like taking the covers off your piece of art and showing it to the world!
